AI Is Changing the Way Brands Approach Lifestyle Imagery – Here’s How

For many businesses, lifestyle imagery ends up sitting on the “maybe one day” list. It’s one of those things everyone would love to have, but when budgets are stretched, organising a full lifestyle shoot often slips down the priority list.
Traditional product photography can be a major undertaking, and for a lot of growing businesses, it’s long been something that simply isn’t feasible…until now!
AI is making lifestyle imagery more accessible
Over the last few months, our design team has been exploring how AI can help remove some of the costly barriers that have traditionally made lifestyle imagery difficult for growing brands or small businesses. Rather than replacing creativity, photography, or design altogether, we’ve been using AI-assisted workflows to help our clients create realistic lifestyle visuals in a way that’s far more flexible, accessible, and commercially realistic.
Using AI, we were able to adapt colours, finishes, fabrics, and materials to showcase multiple product variations, all without the need for additional shoots, locations, or rebuilding the set from scratch every single time.
If your business has a larger catalogue, this way of working can make a massive difference.

Building complete lifestyle scenes around products
So far, we’ve already worked on a range of different lifestyle imagery projects for several of our existing clients, including complete lifestyle environments featuring multiple products together within one cohesive scene. Instead of your products sitting isolated on plain white backgrounds, your customers can see the full picture: how everything works together, how it might look in their own space, and why one product naturally complements another.
That’s where this becomes really useful, especially for brands with products that are often bought together or designed to sit alongside each other.
For example, a fence panel on its own might show the product, but a finished garden scene with matching decking, trellis, planters, and furniture starts to sell the idea behind it. It gives your customers something to picture, something to build around, and a much stronger reason to keep exploring the range.
Our team can create these environments while still keeping your products visually accurate and believable within the image. Colours can be matched properly, textures can be recreated naturally, and products can be adapted to fit perspective, scale, and surroundings in a way that still feels realistic to the customer.
Turning “maybe one day” into something that’s achievable now
The caveat with lifestyle imagery has always been that it needs to come before products go live, not afterwards (in an ideal world). Good visuals are your online sales team. They’re what help generate excitement around products, but for a lot of businesses, the budget and logistics involved mean the imagery only comes much later down the line, if at all.
The problem with that is, without it, ranges can struggle to get the attention they deserve, variations can end up overlooked completely, and products that look brilliant in person can fall flat online simply because the visuals around them never had the chance to catch up.
Bells and whistles without the traditional barriers
One thing we do want to make clear, though, is that none of this works without the creative expertise behind it. AI on its own isn’t the solution, and left unchecked, we’ve all seen how quickly things can go sideways. Extra fingers, distorted proportions, strange textures, products bending in ways they physically shouldn’t… it doesn’t take much for an image to stop feeling believable. Your customers know that, and so do we.
Good lifestyle imagery still relies on creative direction, realistic lighting, composition, texture work, perspective, and understanding how products should naturally sit within a space. AI is assisting the process, but our design team is still doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes to ensure the final result looks polished and realistic.
Ultimately, it’s about making sure that top tier online presentation isn’t reserved only for the B&Qs and IKEAs of the world. It’s for the local home and garden business, the tradespeople, the boutique brand, and everyone else in between, too!
As an award-winning digital agency backed by over 22 years of experience, we’re always looking at how creativity, design, and emerging technology can work together to solve commercial challenges for our clients. Whether that’s through AI-assisted lifestyle imagery, web development, SEO, Google Ads, email marketing or wider digital marketing, everything we do is focused on helping brands grow online in ways that feel commercially realistic, visually strong, and built around real results.
