21 Digital: Developing today’s talent, welcoming a new apprentice
2014 has been a busy and exciting year for 21 Digital. We’ve not only worked on a number of brilliant projects, our client base has also grown month on month too! Of course, with a bigger workload comes the need for another great team member – step forward Ellie Halliday, our first ever apprentice!
Rising star: our new digital marketing apprentice
Ellie, aged 17, joins the 21 Digital marketing team as a Digital Marketing Apprentice after completing her level 2 apprenticeship in business admin for a local carpet retailer. Having struggled to recruit the skills we need in our digital marketing team, we began looking for local talent we could train to become digital marketing stars – and of course Ellie’s credentials and potential shone through.
Michael Cain, Technical Director, explained:
“We’re passionate about investing locally so hiring someone from the surrounding idea was a key consideration.
“After seeing several young and enthusiastic candidates, Ellie stood out and we’re anticipating a great future for her at the agency.”
Talking about the scheme, Ellie Halliday said:
“I recently completed a business admin apprenticeship for a carpet shop. I really enjoyed advertising using social media and working online so a career within digital marketing seemed a natural progression.
“21 Digital came highly recommended by the apprenticeship firm (QA Apprenticeships), They are a young progressive agency keen to help their employees develop.
“I’m looking forward to learning the different disciplines within digital marketing and getting involved with campaigns.”
Sam Fletcher, Marketing and Business Development Director at 21 Digital adds:
“Historically we’ve struggled to recruit the skills we need in our digital marketing team so we decided to create our own apprentice training programme. Young people can join us as soon as they leave school and as long as they are enthusiastic, have a little creative flair and show a willingness to learn, we will give them the skills they need to build a successful career as a digital marketer.”
