Historic building restoration experts, Stone Edge, are now reaping the benefits of a beautifuly crafted, easy to navigate, responsive website, built by the creative web team here at Twentyone.
We were approached by the national restoration company earlier this year and tasked with a complete overhaul of their dated website, as part of their continued expansion plans.
With their reputation continuing to grow and services in increasing demand, the company required a more flexible up-to-date website.
Furthermore, with new offices opening in London and the Midlands a new responsive website would be able to show off the historic building restoration work they undertake nationwide in the best fashion possible.
When redesigning their website we asked ourselves, what’s the biggest selling factor of their restoration & conservation work? The answer of course – the results, the success and outcome of the work and the lasting impression it leaves.
With this in mind, we completely revamped the website to make it all about the beautiful pictures; a visual journey showcasing the essential work Stone Edge do to protect Britain’s historic monuments and buildings.
Our choice for a modern, responsive design was also important. This means no more pitching and squeezing on smartphones as the site will automatically re-size gracefully to the device you are browsing the web on.
With more and more people using their smartphones and tablets to browse the internet, it’s become increasingly important to design a website that works across every one of these platforms. A user-friendly site should always be top of anyone’s agenda when building a website. With responsive web design, users certainly get this. They can find, absorb and pass on content with ease – especially when compared to more traditional websites. In fact, Google loves them too!
Commenting on the project, Twentyone, Marketing Director, Sam said:
“It was a really nice brief to work on, as the subject matter meant we had a beautiful library of images to work with. Visually this project was a designers dream – creating a clean functional easy-to-navigate website with the images doing the talking!
“Coding the layout to work responsively across all devices (e.g. Desktop & iPhone etc) was challenging but we more than met this with our expertise.
“The website also features a content rich Projects section that is dynamically driven based on category of project.”
Richard Denneny, Director of Stone Edge Ltd added
“Twentyone agency in Blackburn have produced our group web sites and managed our updates, newsletters and social media work over the last three years. They have a really bright team with progressive and great ideas.
